Reusable Makeup Remover Pads

Every one of us who sews has scraps of fabric in our stash we can’t bear to throw out. It’s wasteful, for one thing, but it’s also because we love the fabric or we wouldn’t have purchased it in the first place. Finding projects to use my fabric scraps makes me ever so happy.

I saw a tutorial on CraftGossip.com about making your own Reusable Makeup Remover Pads and quick popped over to the Sproutz blog for her easy tutorial.

Sproutz made hers using charm squares and Minky fabric, but I don’t have either and wanted to use whatever resources currently reside in my stash. A piece of April Cornell fabric and white flannel did the job for me. I modified her tutorial a bit by cutting my pieces 3½-inch instead of her 2½-inches square.I love this project; it’s useful, pretty, green in respect to reusing the pads, and now I’m plotting making a whole pile of them.

Wouldn't these be great in spa gift sets, the guest bath, and tucked in a travel toiletry bag? Now I'm thinking about making more for use in applying lotions and other beauty potions.

Fabulous idea and totally beauty-iful too! I've made lots of re-useable fabric items and never thought of this one! And I even have a complimentary bottle of make-up remover somewhere that's really pretty...add a couple of these and I just may have a wonderful token friendship gift! Thanks for the great tip!

That is just plain fancy! I bet my cotton ball jar would look way cuter if it were filled with reusable makeup remover pads like this. And YOU KNOW I haven't thrown out a scrap of cute fabric EVER.

Oh Junie. Before long we'll be reusing every darn thing.

Lovely idea. I can see making some of these in children's fabric and use in place of cotton balls to apply creams or who knows what (seems like we go through cotton balls though.) That makes me think how nice they would be for a home "spa" treatment as well. Soaked in some sort of tonic to rest on weary eyes.

I'm thinking I'd like to make some of these too. I have friends that would also appreciate them :)
