We knit and crochet shawls with prayer, and then they are blessed and delivered to people in the community and beyond. Usually the recipient is someone who has had a loss or is ill, or is in need. The ministry was begun by two women in CT, and you can see their website at www.shawlministry.com. In any case, two shawls were recently completed, and I picked them up yesterday at church, and have one packed up and ready to be sent to a wonderful man battling cancer, who has just been told he only has a few months more to live. I am hoping he will wrap himself in the shawl and feel enfolded in the love and prayers.Wyliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14613080675970515333noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9101652560774429919.post-22263978224770825312007-10-04T11:00:00.000-05:002007-10-04T11:00:00.000-05:00Junie, you are so generous. My friend Jill, who has a blog at www.bittersweetsoap.com (along with her wonderful business website) has a "caring and sharing" philosophy which, I believe, has certainly been a help to me lately. I try to do things for others without a "tit for tat" mentality--do something because it's the right thing to do, not for what it will get you in return. I feel like I try daily to be polite to folks--holding doors open, letting others with fewer items get infront of me in store check-out lines, etc.. The one deed (I guess you can call it that)I am the happiest with came about on a recent trip. We were in a terminal, waiting for our plane, and struck up a conversation with a young military man making a surprise visit to his pregnant wife (due to be induced the next day!) I slipped up to the attendant on duty and told her about the guy and asked if they would upgrade his seat. A few minutes later, they surprised him with a "first class seat". He was thrilled and I felt so happy to have secretly been a part of making that special trip home more comfortable for a guy sacrificing so much.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9101652560774429919.post-45829544755845843352007-10-03T22:37:00.000-05:002007-10-03T22:37:00.000-05:00JunieMoon--you are just the sweetest gal! I enjoy...JunieMoon--you are just the sweetest gal! I enjoy and am inspired by your blog and your generous and loving spirit--congratulations on hitting the one month mark already! I try and commit RAK's (random acts of kindness) as often as I can--and try not to let one slip by me.

My favorite one recently was at the department store. I was behind an elderly gentelman in line and he wrote out a check to pay for his purchase (he had a pack of socks and a small pack of batteries)--and the clerk asked for his ID, which he didn't have. She proceeded to treat him rudely and basically told him he would have to come back at some later date with his ID and grabbed his stuff and shoved it under the counter. I told her to pull it back out and paid for it and gave it to him. He actually had tears in his eyes when he thanked me. So for around $12 I was able to really make someone happy and also (hopefully) gave an example to that store clerk to show a little respect and compassion to others.

I'll respectfully withdraw myself from your drawing--but just wanted to share my story and tell you how wonderful this idea is! Yeah JunieMoon!

Smiles, KarenMrs.Kwittyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01705302949128942627noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9101652560774429919.post-60371035705219691942007-10-03T20:50:00.000-05:002007-10-03T20:50:00.000-05:00Dear JuneI was just emailing you to thank you for ...Dear June

I was just emailing you to thank you for commenting on my blog and then thought I should leave you a meaasage on yours but could not find it in the club little house list Blogspotter to the rescue !!
