I have been blessed to have some of my family here visiting me. While they’ve been off for a few days visiting the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas, I’ve spent the time working on my projects. They return tonight and we have wonderful plans for the weekend.
The goals I listed the other day have been achieved and my week has been successful.
Goal 1: Two More Bend-the-Rules Clutches
I used Regina’s button (Creative Kismet) from the Embroidered Button Swap for this clutch—it complements the lining fabric perfectly. The fabrics are by Kaffe Fassett.
This bag has a button I made from a little piece of the lining fabric which is a Michael Miller design. The exterior fabric is Bunkhouse by Moda Classic. Learning to make covered buttons is the most useful new skill I’ve learned lately.
Goal 2: Deck the Halls Ornament Swap Project
In this swap you make an ornament and buy one. This project is done but I can’t post it until my swap partner receives it.
Goal 3: Three Puppet Theatres
The final of three doorway puppet theatres made for Christmas. My husband wanted it to be patriotic. No one in my family reads my blog so I’m perfectly safe posting pictures.
These are the theatre cases.
Once again I put the covered button trick into play.
Goal 4: Operation Christmas Child
My husband and I shopped for two boxes for Operation Christmas Child: toys, Crayons, coloring book, hairbrush/comb, bars of Ivory soap, 4 washcloths each, toothpaste, toothbrush, etc.
Have a wonderful weekend!
My mother is off to Vegas in about a week - she's so excited!
ReplyDeleteYour puppet theatres turned out beautiful - you're really cracking through the handmade presents. Must get started...
Love those little clutches. You have such a good eye for your fabric combinations. I bet your fabric stash is to die for :-)
ReplyDeleteEvery time I come and read your blog it is a treat for the eyes. Your fabric and creations are just wonderful. And what a big heart you have!
ReplyDeleteThe little bags are perfect. I've been seeing this book around quite a bit. I think I'll have to pick up a copy for myself. Have a nice day!
ReplyDeleteBusy week for you, June. It's all delightful, but my favorite was the bandanna-fabric clutch. Too cute! See you tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteYour puppet theaters are gorgeous, you and your husband both did a great job picking out the fabrics. I think it's about time for me to make a couple clutches too!

Cute puppet theater!! My favorite of the 3 is the first one... however they are all adorable!! Your gradchildren will love them. Do the puppets shown with each go with them?? Love Raggedy Ann and Andy!!! Your purses are darling... the button adds that special touch! I haven't covered buttons in years... but now I'm anxious to play with them again.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend with family!
Hugs, Joni
I've finally found you...growing up everyone used to say, "hey April, where's May and June."
ReplyDeleteI just ran across your blog today, and I love it blog and the projects that you've made.
I was so tickled when you said you went to Target to buy for your Operation Christmas Child gifts. I did the same!! I was wondering if we got some of the same things and see that we did. I also got toothbrushes, toothpaste, Ivory soap, washcloths and of the toys I see we got the same little bear. I did a girl and a boy box and let my daughter help. She is learn so much about giving! :-) Glad you got so much accomplished this week, it must feel really good!
ReplyDeleteWonderful projects all around JunieMoon! Love the raggedy puppets, they are so cute. What exactly is a theater case?? Are they the bags to hold each different stage and set up?
ReplyDeleteSmiles, Karen
p.s. Your package is on it's way! Thanks!
Oh I Love Your Projects :0 You did get a ton done & You just Reminded me, I need to do Operation Christmas Child This weekend, I have been doing it every year for 10 or 12 years now. We do a Box for each child we have, so my daughter picks out for a girl her age and my son, a boy his age :) It's such a wonderful thing and such a Great Charity.

Loopy and I do Operation Christmas Child every year. I have to finish it up and get it away. Where we live, we can drop it off at Safeway! Can you do that?
ReplyDeleteI love your puppet theatres so much. What a grand idea. Are you absolutely, positively sure that nobody in the family reads your blog? Only my mother and brother read mine, so I'm putting some spoilers up too.
I look forward to my Saturday mornings so that I can lounge around Junie Moon's blog. Such great projects this week!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe lesson in love was great and besides that...kids really love that mickey mouse fabric *cringe*
I love the clutches! I really like the colorful dots. You have some terriic goals.

ReplyDeleteI MUST make one of those clutches too. I'm sure they would be great for anything.
I'll have much to show this afternoon......
Keep an eye out.....
Everything looks so wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteI love that you are actually using the buttons from our swap. I kind of have a problem with hoarding those kinds of things.
