Blessings Friday: Reminders

Yesterday was a day of reminders.

I was reminded that life has its own way to slow you down when you can’t seem to do it for yourself. My medicines aren’t working so now I’m on new antibiotics. And today I get a CT scan for a nodule they’ve discovered in my left lung along with another x-ray of my ribs because the doctor thinks that I’ve broken two of them.

I’ve received lovely cards and emails from many of you. When I arrived home last evening tired and frightened after a day of more medical tests, these beautiful flowers from my friends Donna and David in N.C. greeted me. And once again, I’m reminded of the love for which I’m so blessed to receive.

So my china cabinet remains untouched despite my intent to clean it yesterday. And that’s okay. Today I’m looking at it as a reminder that it’s all right to do nothing; it’s okay to take care of myself instead of a china cabinet.

Thank you for the blessing of your friendship. Each time you leave a comment, I’m reminded that my life is full of blessings. I sincerely appreciate your visits to my blog and your presence in my life.

  3. It's absolutely alright to do nothing, especially when your body demands it. I'll be praying for good results from today's test, June, and also that you'll be feeling rested and mended again soon!

  5. I hope the new antibiotic kicks in soon. Tests are so scary aren't they? While I was preparing for surgery about five weeks ago, they discovered a cyst on my liver and I had to have further tests. Mine was fine and I'm praying that yours is too!

  20. I hope you feel better soon. Try not to fret over the tests. Broken ribs are painful but they will heal in time. When I had pneumonia they found a nodule on my left lung. I had mris every three months for a year. But it's nothing no tumor , cyst or cancer. Just rest and take care of yourself. I always feel guilty when I get down so I know how you feel.I'll be praying for you !

  28. Oh please take care of yourself, everything else can wait. It's terrifying waiting for results of testing. I had a nodule in my left lung in late 2006, and it really scared me. It turned out to be pneumonia, just like Anonymous. Hopefully you will have resolution soon. I will keep you in my thoughts.

  29. June, I'm so sorry to hear that you're still not well. And yes, most definitely, it's perfectly fine to take care of yourself instead of tidying your china cabinet :-)

    Be well.
