Junie Moon’s New Bag

Thank you for your fun comments yesterday. I am giving great consideration to what each of you has said and opening an Etsy store sounds feasible. Not today though as I have a project to finish for Meggiecat first.

When finishing a big project such as that in preparing for the Special Olympics, I always get this weird discombobulated feeling and am not quite sure what to do with myself next. It’s a bit like being lost and not sure which direction to go.

To combat this, I made a new bag last night using two Japanese-print fabrics I fell in love with at Hancock Fabrics. The picture above shows the bag inside out. Aren’t the little parasols on the lining fabric ever so glorious?

And here is the exterior of the bag. I love the colors of the lining complementing so perfectly the same colors in the exterior. The pattern I used is New Look 6574.

It’s always a happy day when you have a new bag!

  1. I like it inside out! That is a lovely bag! I will have to look for that pattern. It doesn't take long to open an Etsy store- it is very simple, really, you just dive right in! You can use your pictures from Flickr by choosing a medium size and loading that. It takes some time to write the description- but you really just need fabric and dimension and the pictures show the rest. Try it. Just one little listing...you'll like it! C'mon, Junie Moon!

  2. June, your new bag creation is stunning! Those fabrics are gorgeous. I can't decide which side I like better as they both look so bright and cheerful, and I love the depth and width of the bag. If you open an Etsy shop for charity you will have a long line of customers wanting to buy this bag!

It's exciting you are working with Mehggiecat! I've been looking at her blog for years -- in fact it's one of the first blogs I think I read :-) She always shares such great sources for crafts and other fun things.

    HAPPY EARTH DAY!

    Hugs, Pat

  3. Your bag is lovely!! Glad you found a project to settle that inner need.

I started a 'Shoes' scrapbook this morning with an acrylic cover. I have glue all over the acrylic at the moment and I can't stand it.

I'm in the process of deleting my link list. Ahhhh...

  4. That's a lovely bag...I'm so sorry your booth for Special Olympics didn't sell anything...but I'm sure it was a learning experience anyway...and you got to be a "biker chick" for a moment!

  10. That bag is beautiful but those fabrics are perfect. I'm going to have to try to find some for my oldest, she is convinced she's moving to Tokyo when she's older. Maybe if I can find enough stuff like that she'll stop saying that.

  12. Great bag and I love the parasols too. I'll have too look for that pattern. Forgive me for being fabric ignorant these days but is 'New Look' a company like McCall's?
