Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world. I discovered this wonderful giving opportunity from my friend Kristi at Sunnypond Home.

You fill a shoe box with gift items and deliver them to the drop-off point nearest you. They guide you through preparing your shoe box package, provide a zip code search feature to help you find your nearest delivery site, and even offer printable labels you can use on your box.

National Collection Week is November 12–19. Here’s the
link for all the details.

This is going to be one of my November giving projects and I hope you’ll join in as well. I have to say it’s very well organized.

Thanks for the good idea and the link. We've done shoe box gifts through our church before, but I'm willing to try this one too.

Christmas is such a wonderful reminder to "love our neighbor as ourself".

Happy November, June!

June, what a great idea to put this on your blog!! We've done Op. Christmas Child many years and I think it's just wonderful. It's been a great thing to do with my kids , I always have them help fill a shoebox and I really think it helps teach them some good lessons about giving to and loving others.

Hi June,
This looks like a wonderful project. I have a few organizations that I contribute to, and agree that giving, helps to keep me centered in what is truly important.
Take care.

Oh! Our church nursery participates in this drive each year, and it's a lot of fun.

I know I can always count on you for inspiration when it comes to giving back, June. :)

What a great idea. I think it's only for the US though (I'm in UK). It was great meeting you yesterday at the party. Thanks for stopping by

My church has done this for several years. I have always loved doing feeling like I am helping someone out there.
