Drink in Merriment

Dark chocolate purportedly helps reduce blood pressure according to Better Homes and Gardens who provides a recipe for us to try. Naturally I’ve made a recipe card for this.

Click to enlarge and print (I use cardstock to print all my recipe cards).

I decided to add homemade marshmallows to go with it—I hope this doesn’t counteract the healthy chocolate drink. Okay, it does but I wanted to try my hand at making them. I have low blood pressure anyway.

The marshmallow recipe is from Tyler Florence at Food Network Kitchens along with another hot cocoa recipe. Click here.

I love the mugs with lids...so cool :-) I always look forward to making hot chocolate for my son when he comes home for a visit. Only 11 days til we pick him up from the airport :)

What a simple recipe for the hot chocolate. I can't wait to try it. I just asked my husband last night if he thought homemade marshmallows were worth the effort. Were they?

Homemade marshmallows in hot chocolate sounds like just what the doctor ordered for this cold Saturday... 12 degrees right now with a high of 18 degrees later today. I need to send my husband, the cook, into the kitchen to start the mallows (he loves projects like that)and also start a fire in the fireplace.
Hugs from the tundra,
Joni

I just saw Tyler Florence make those on the Food Network and was wondering what they taste like. Please tell...
are they as delicious as they look?
