An Exchange of Favors

Last Wednesday my next-door neighbor called and asked me to make a baby quilt for her. She loves Winnie the Pooh, so that’s the quilt theme I used. I finished it on Sunday.

We bartered our skills. She will return the favor this coming Friday morning by re-tiling a small section of my back porch where some of my Italian slate tiles have popped up. I must not have installed them correctly in the first place.

Love your little quilt Junie! I love bartering -- I wish we could do it more often. I once bartered homemade boxer shorts for my friends little boy and her husband arc welded my broken lawn mower axle -- I think I got the better end of the deal!

Lovely quilt. Tied quilts touch my heart and you used different colors. I'm sure it will be used and treasured.

My sister and brother-in-law who live in AZ have been batering for services for years! I love the idea, and it's woked out so well for them.

The quilt is adorable! I love Winnie the Pooh too. My adult daughter's favorite character when she was a child was Eeyore, and I still buy her stuffed animals and collectibles of his image.

Hugs, Pat

I had to pop by and see what your post had to say today. I promised myself I'd stay away from blogs as I am over-my-head in shower details.

The Pooh quilt is so sweet. It looks so soft and cuddly. You do everything so lovingly.

Did I get the feeling that YOU... Junie Moon... laid the original tiles yourself in your backyard??

Isn't bartering a satisfying way of sharing your skills? Something you like to have in exchange for something you like to do, expanding your circle of connections.

June, a lovely quilt. I love the idea of bartering. Love that. Gosh, it pays to live where there are people. I'm in such a remote area the only thing I could barter for would be cow pies or hay bales. Oh well :)

Oh June the quilt looks beautiful and I think we should bring back the bartering system. Great idea.

Great job on that binding! I'm just learning to sew and finished my first binding project this weekend. I need lots more practice. :)
