Blessings Friday: Tunes 4 the Troops

My sister Connie, my niece Shauna, and I are collecting CDs and DVDs to send to deployed soldiers overseas.

We learned about the Tunes 4 the Troops program via CNN news last week.

Kaylee Marie Radzyminski organized this effort—and she’s only 16 years old. I’m very impressed by her generous service to others.

If you’d like to help, you can find more information here. They provide a list of collection points, but you can mail your offerings to their address as follows:

Speaking of the troops, I forgot to share the cupcakes we made for our neighbors for Memorial Day. Each family received a blue plate of white cupcakes flecked inside with red and blue candy bits mixed in the batter as well as sprinkled on top of the white frosting.

The cupcake papers are festooned with red and blue stars and fun “fireworks” picks finished the presentation.

How could your biggest fan miss that many posts??? Sorry... just read them all and got caught up on the creative life of Junie Moon.

I love the DVDs for the troops. Have to get Boyd to look through ours (or I might give away his war and science fiction movies... tee-hee).

More cupcakes for the neighbors means you're running aroung naked again. They are sooooooo pretty... the cupcakes! As is the apron and the fabric that I must go to JoAnn's to find some today. It has houses on it and it's red = my house.

Oooo... and another Junie Moon foot for my shoe book. Thanks!

I've donated CD's to that cause too, June. I'm a big Bo Bice fan(American Idol Season 4), and his fan site promoted giving a copy his new CD called "See The Light" to the troops through this program and another one. Thousands were sent. He's also performed live in Iraq and Afganistan through "Stars and Stripes" which brings performers over, and he's going back in October. I believe Bo's half brother is a Marine serving in Iraq.

Those cupcakes are so cute! They would be great for The Fourth of July too!

Hugs, Pat
