A new project is on my mind, a bit of sewing/embroidery. While thinking about the details of what I want to do, I thought a nice, simple little paper activity would be fun and relaxing yesterday. This took the form of a few bobbins to hold the embroidery threads I’m going to use or not use—I’m still pondering the project.
I simply glued scrapbook paper to the fronts and back of a few spare DMC cardboard bobbins using Martha Stewart Crafts Decoupage Glue and Sealer. Then I placed the bobbins on a piece of wax paper to dry in the sun on my windowsill.

Nice touch!
I love Martha Stewart products. All her things are so well made and wonderful color combinations. I have quite a few of her paper punches for card crafts.
Good luck with your projects!
Hugs, Pat
Such a great idea June! I have lots of the old plastic bobbins that you can't get anymore and I just haven't been happy with the new cardboard ones. You've just changed my mind!!!
How in the world do you juggle all these projects? I think I've already asked that... but it boggles my mind.
well that was short and very sweet. Ah June, it is always such a pleasure here!
(why is it yours is the ONLY Blogger blog that I don't have endless problems with when leaving a comment? Must be your sunny disposition!)
Love the cardboard bobbins! Imagine all those colours! It’s a wonderful project to put off things we really should be doing... LOL!
I always wonder how you manage to come up with such fun subjects!
Oh my gosh that is SO cute. I am totally doing that tonight. You have such awesome ideas Junie! Those bobbins are so pretty. You have neat projects with scrapbook paper- I remember a certain set of rolodex cards of which I was particularly envious. What else do you do with scrapbook paper?
So simple, but so nice. I like this idea. I've already organized a lot of my threads on the plain white bobbins, but this idea is one that I'm going to try to remember to do next time around.
P.S.
I forgot to mention that I've been thinking and exploring more cross stitch projects. I'm very attracted to old samplers, so I've been looking at those online, and finding old patterns. It's interesting to read about the motifs, and the meanings behind them. I've discovered that I love Blackbird Designs. Have you ever tried any of there patterns?
