Blessings Friday: U.S. National Parks Free Weekend

Get your hiking boots on, pack a picnic, and find your binoculars. This is the third and final weekend national park entrance fees will be waived in 2009.

Tomorrow and Sunday, you can ease through the gates for free—especially nice at such parks as Canyonlands National Park where visiting the Grand Canyon requires an entrance fee as huge as the canyon itself.

Before you leave your money at home, be mindful that the fee-free weekend applies only to entrance fees and does not affect fees for camping, reservations, or special tours.

Enjoy this opportunity for adventure and have a great weekend. Don’t forget your National Parks Passport book so you can record your visit by adding the park's stamp found in the visitor’s center.

We are going a few weeks too late! :-( Are you going to visit a NP this weekend and take advantage of this special?

Whatever the cost the National Parks are well worth the admission price!

Enjoy June, and have a great weekend!

Hugs, Pat

Thanks for the heads up! Although you should note that Canyonlands National Park is different from Grand Canyon National Park.

Ah... I was going to ask if this was all national parks, but I no longer need to ask because I read the comments. All national parks are free. Sweet!

Woo hoo! I love National Parks! I wonder if I live close enough to any to take advantage of this? Off to investigate...
