Finish What You Start: Overdue Scrapbooking

How was your weekend? Mine was quite busy but productive. Saturday and Sunday were spent scrapbooking at my friend Paula's Creative Memories weekend crop. I finished two books, one of them long overdue.

In 2006, our friends Donna and David went on a Mexican Riviera cruise with us. Donna and I bought the scrapbook covers found in our ship’s gift shop. Being me, I said, “Oh, I’ll be happy to scrap the trip for you.

And the project has languished in my UFO pile until now. I am really ashamed of myself; however, it’s finally done. I won’t share the pages I created as our friends really ought to be the first to see them.

Although I’ve mostly been good about putting our photographs in albums over the years, a couple of stuffed photo boxes still beg to be organized.

Since the promised scrapbook for Donna and David is done, I started on the photo organizing by making one of our most recent adventure—this summer’s anniversary road trip. Paula’s crop weekend was really helpful in focusing my time on this.

My next scrap project will be my husband’s birthday party which I shared with you a few weeks ago and then I’ll attend future crops to get all the rest of our photo boxes emptied, one by one. I’ve bought all the tools I need to do digital scrapbooking, too, including PhotoShop which will arrive soon.

The scrapbooks and boxes of photos aren’t the only projects languishing in my UFO stash; it’s really awful of me, especially since I really do love having everything organized. It’s one reason I’ve opted not to join a lot of swaps this year—I need to get other things done. Well, all I can say is just take one project at a time and get on with it.

Congratulations Junie Moon! I'm so impressed that you're getting your projects done -- I need to heed your one at a time advice -- I have piles of pictures just waiting for...something. I thought you already had photoshop -- you're going to LOVE it!

Hi June
You did a lovely job! I like to scrapbook as many photos as I can on one page too!

I wish there were a crop near me --it is so much fun to work with a group and access to tools that are shared. I haven't been successful in finding one as yet.

My daughter-in-law's Mom is also a Creative Memories rep.

The "to do" list is never finished but that keeps life interesting!

Hugs, Pat

Good for you, June! I still haven't put together my daughter's baby book. . .mostly because I still haven't done one for my son.

Musn't rush, don't ya know.

Seeing finished projects like yours reminds me of how much happier I'll be with my own done, so thank you once again!

Good for you!! I've still got the Disney trip we took in 08 about 1/5th done - terrible! I really need to attend a crop to have a long time to focus on it.
