Boo!

I’m back from vacation in time to start celebrating the Halloween season.

Last night I made these B-O-O letters using paper-mâché letters bought a year or so ago. I painted each letter with a matte acrylic paint in the color Ebony. Sheets from Debbie Mumm’s Harvest & Holiday paper pack (found on sale at Jo-Ann’s before leaving for our trip) was glued to each letter using Mod Podge. Oops, I just realized I put the "B" upside down when photographing it. Ah well, you get the idea.

Want to know about our trip? I’ll start with our San Juan, Puerto Rico leg of the trip. We stayed there for a couple of days before embarking on our cruise.

We took a self-guided walking tour all over Old San Juan as well as rode the free tram. In one of the plazas, this sweet little boy delighted in putting on a show for us. The birds perched all over him as he fed them.

One of the many places we visited was Castillo San Felipe del Morro, a San Juan National Historic Site. It’s a sixteenth-century citadel designed to guard the entrance to San Juan bay and defend the city from seaborne enemies.

Outside the fort, a youth group from the Baptist Church was putting on a biblical folk play. They kindly posed for me.

Dinner with a bunch of our friends cruising with us was a blast. This is me and my friend Peggy (from Georgia). We were given crazy balloon hats and the Senor Frog’s staff gave me a microphone which was a big mistake on their part. While we were going on Royal Caribbean’s Adventure of the Seas, there were a number of folks sailing on Celebrity’s Victory. We got everyone engaged in a lot of goofy merriment and I made tons of friends we saw later on our ship.

More trip details tomorrow.

What a fun trip! I am so glad!
I've never been to Puerto Rico, but your photos are delightful. (so are the boo letters! they would look so cute hanging outside)

Hi June!

Welcome home! It looks like you and Dub had a great time! Your photos are wonderful, and you had me chuckling about the microphone. I see you got a nice tan too!

Hahaha - um, Junie, you're looking very, um, "relaxed". I've heard Senor Frogs has that effect on people LOL!
