At 5 a.m. today, I was jerked awake by super bad leg cramps and tried to leap out of bed to stretch my muscles. I got a little more than you would expect with this maneuver. I became tangled in my sheets and fell—a leg going in one direction, a leg in the opposite direction, and my right foot stubbornly tried yet another point of view.
My mother-in-law managed to get me to the hospital and we’ve just returned home. My impromptu fall caused broken bones, damaged tissues, and the opportunity to forge a relationship with a new orthopedic surgeon.
Next time, I’ll just stay in bed.

I'm so sorry to hear this. But take comfort in your pretty pedicure - it looks wonderful next to the bandages/cast. Very au courant with the season.
Oh nooooo!!! I'm sorry... though I kinda wish I saw it. But I'm still sorry! :)
On the bright side, at least you have a super cute pedicure and a new orthopedic surgeon to add to your collection! ;) Hope you get better soon, Aunt June!
Yikes, hope you get better soon!
P.S. AWESOME red :)
Dang, June! What a way to fall..but we've all done that!!
As someone who had her own ooops! last January in Alaska on black ice and got to know another orthopedic surgeon...I feel for you! After, I broke and dislocated my wrist, family members had one broken bone after another! Keep an eye on your MIL and thank goodness she still drives and got you to the dr!
Blessings to that leg and heal well and heal soon!! (((JUNE)))
Oh, no no no! I'm so sorry, hope you can get pampered a bit while you're hobbling around. Jeez, no marathons for you for a while, I guess.
Sorry about the mishap..but on the bright side....Your toes look GREAT!!!
Like the others my first thought was, "What a bummer." Quickly followed by, "What a great pedicure!" Hang in there!
Oh June! I am so sorry. If there is anything I can do, let me know. Dinner, errands, company, you name it!

I am home during the day with the kiddo, so I can be at your beck and call.
Oh June -- that's awful! I hate those silly leg cramps. I hope you heal quickly!
Oh shoot, dagnabbit, and other family-friendly exclamations of distress (though I doubt what you're feeling is family friendly). I was yanked back to consciousness the other morning with a charleyhorse, sat straight up in bed, and (apparently mouthed) OW OW OW OW! Glad I stayed in bed...
Oh no JunieMoon!!! That sounds like a horrible experience :o(
I hope you are not in too much pain and that you will be fixed up and back to normal ASAP.
Hugs, Karen
Oh, bless your heart June! And for it to be your right foot...no driving for you. Hope it heals quickly. Nice toes :)

oh no June! I am SO sorry to hear about this. You are certainly taking this in stride. I know how painful broken bones are and how they affect everyday chores around the home. I'm wishing you lots of local help and speeding healing!
get well soon and hoping for a speedy recovery
Awwww, that's such a shame, Junie Moon! I'm so sorry to read about your mishap - those darn leg cramps!
Take it easy - as much as you can!

Oh No! I know a little how you feel, June, as I had a stress fracture in my foot last winter. No fun :(
Boy, this year could certainly have started a bit better for so many folks, it seems.
I'm so sorry about your injury June. I hope you'll feel much better soon.
