Closets can be stuffy places; so I made lavender sachets to go with my new clothes hanger covers.
I cut 3x12-inch fabric pieces out of 22-count white Hardanger cloth and finished all edges on my sewing machine with a zig-zag stitch so they wouldn’t fray. I stitched my monogram using the alphabet chart from 2001 Cross Stitch Designs: The Essential Reference Book ("Better Homes & Gardens"). Folding the fabric in half lengthwise, I seamed three sides and filled my little bags half-full with French lavender. I inserted a piece of ribbon to make a hanger loop and slip-stitched the end closed.

What a pretty closet!! I haven't stitched on Hardanger in years, your work sure is delicate and fine.
I recently discovered that I LOVE lavender, and I always love to see other people using it. I just need to find a good source for dried lavender. I think I have a few websites bookmarked, but I haven't gotten around to ordering from them yet!
I've tagged you for a link meme! It's fun, I promise! I've linked the post here!
How sweet. Great ideas for sewing projects to use around the home. You must have the most attractive closet in town!!

Every corner of your home must be beautiful. Love this project!
Oh your closet looks so neat and tidy and now smells nice too.
These are beautiful June! I'll bet your closet smells like heaven. I love your little scarf too -- I wanted to participate in the sewing adventure too, but, sadly I just couldn't get motivated about the book. Maybe next year! I mailed my bandages this morning. Not much, but hopefully every little bit will count.
These are lovely! I love the covers and the satchets and they work so well together.
p.s.I replied to your comment about countertops on my blog.
What a lovely idea, I love lavender.

Your closet looks... and I'm sure smells... so pretty and organized.
Maybe someday...
Hugs,
Joni
Your lavender sachets are so pretty!
I have lots of them scattered throughout my fabrics. Mine are just utilitarian, though. Made from stained or damaged damask napkins.
I'll have to make some pretty ones for my own closet. :)

Your closet surely must bring bring a smile to your face, every time you open the door, June!
I think all of your ideas are very nice. Thank you for taking the time to share them.
Very elegant! I love the shoulder covers too. Not owning a sewing machine I've made lavendar sachets by buying little sheer nylon favor drawstring bags (see source below) and filling them with lavender I had dried from my garden. It's not as beautiful as yours, but did the trick.
