Leather Bracelets

These leather bracelet kits were on sale at Jo-Ann’s Fabrics in May so I bought a couple of them.

I wanted to test the kits to see whether they would be something relatively easy for my nieces to make when they visit in a couple of weeks. In summer, their attention span is that of a gnat because it’s all about the beach where they live. Since there isn’t any ocean with waves washing up on shore in Tucson, our pool will suffice.

Each bracelet only takes a few minutes to make and will work fine for a quick evening project while dinner is on the grill and before we get out the telescope to find star formations. The rest of the time, it will be hard to drag the girls out of the pool.

Yes, I can see where those would be a hit with the tweenish set. Hmmm, I'll bet my girls would like to make one, and they'd see results quickly. Just the kind of project they'd like! Another reason to visit Joann's besides the pattern sale this weekend!

I'll have to keep a look out for those for the girls. Thats a wonderful thoughtful gift for them, I bet they'll have lots of fun! How old are they maybe you could do some spool knitting, or loom knitting. Sorry even though I don't do it as frequently as I should my mind always wonders to knitting.

What a great Auntie you are June. Pool, bracelets, and star-gazing -- the stuff memories are made of!

Very nice idea --I bet your nieces will like them and it's a souvenir to take home from Aunt June's!

Enjoy their visit!

Oh yeah, those look like a fun project for the girls! I know what you mean about trying to keep them occupied (lol, the gnat comment!) My kids are never bored because each time they say that they are, I find them something to do--and it usually involves some sort of physical labor! lol

These are great starter kits to get someone interested in leatherworking!

Surely, the girls will love doing this project especially when you let them keep it, since people appreciate things that they've made due to sentimental values. As a bracelet lover, I would love to wear them with my debossed silicone wristband that I bought a few days ago, and also, wearing a custom-made debossed wristband with my name written on it, made it ten times more awesome!
