Today I’m finishing my packing. I’m much more methodical about clothes planning for cruises than other trips. I make a chart of the days and times (morning, afternoon, evening) and exactly what activities we’ve scheduled. Then I choose the clothing I need and the chart becomes my packing list. Here are some things I'm packing.

There are two formal nights, but we’re only going to attend one. I’m not into sequins and such, so I’ll wear my reproduction vintage dress bought a few years ago. I call it my Titanic dress, but my husband asked me not to use the word Titanic on the cruise. I have a black strapless tube-style dress that shows major décolletage which my husband loves (big surprise—hah!), but I’m nervous about wearing it. I’ll pack it along with my strapless bra and then see whether I work up my nerve to wear it one night.

My sister Connie said my clothes are boring for Caribbean travel, so we went shopping. She talked me into buying an orange linen dress at Eileen’s of Tucson and made me promise to find colorful accessories. So I found a pink-and-orange lightweight scarf, matching pair of sandals, and made a Japanese knot bag to go with it all (and, naturally, a matching tissue holder).

Here’s another Japanese Knot Bag I’ve made to go with some other clothes I’m packing. Knot bags are perfect for travel because they can pack flat in your luggage. Of course, yet another tissue holder was made to match.

I’m packing the laundry bag I made (lined with vinyl). Generally there’s one night during the cruise when laundry service is offered for $20 for all you can cram in one bag.
Tomorrow I’ll share something special my close friends and I are doing on the cruise.

You're sure to have a wonderful time. I agree with you about wearing shorts in the heat. I used to wear shorts, now I don't even own a pair. Capris yes, and if it's really hot, a dress. So much cooler!

Have fun on your cruise! You will love the Caribbean - I don't know whether it's the air or the salt water but I've found it to be marvellous for the skin. Dresses are definitely cooler. Love your accessories, they're darling.

I am amazed the detail and time you spend on these things. Love those knot bags and you make such a good point about them fitting nice and flat in a suitcase. Btw I ADORE that orange fabric.

Hi-- I was wondering, what is inside your shoes in the photo? Also, I've never heard of Japanese knot bags before-- do you know of a pattern available online?
Caribbean is very beautiful place to travel and enjoy island view. Perhaps one of the best tourist places in the world. Hope your trip was full of enjoyment. Anyway, I like your Titanic dress most. Starfish dress also not less beautiful. I am very much impressed and entrained with sweet expressions, though I was actually looking for Ladies Party Dresses online as I have to attend a special party. Anyway, thank you very much for the amazing share.
