Blessings Friday: Joys in my Mailbox

Some fun packages have arrived in my mailbox, consolation prizes for all the junk mail also stuffed inside. Do people actually read their junk mail? I don’t.

Happy Ring

A cute ring from Jimena’s Etsy shop. Getting mail from Argentina was much more interesting than boring advertising fliers.

Jimena makes a Customized Ego Award Ring you can have personalized with whatever word you choose. I chose “Happy”.

The ring has a little elastic strap to fit any size finger and an extra little strap is included in your order.

Personalized Note Cards

Along with my name, each card has a different seashell image. I love the beachy theme.

Claire Murray Book

© June Scroggin, All Rights Reserved

Claire Murray’s Nantucket Inspirations: Designs, Charts & Folklore book is so perfect for my personal interests. Inside are 14 rug, needlepoint, and counted cross stitch designs for recreating some of Claire’s wonderful designs along with bits of poetry and little stories about the coast.

Rug hooking is not something I’ve tried yet, so I’m considering using this design to learn this technique by making a small rug. I’ve put the supplies for making this rug on my Christmas wish list and given my husband a heads-up on it.

If only we received such great things in the mail everyday, instead of all the junk that must weigh the poor Postie down.
What a fab ring, and your note cards are lovely too. What great Etsy finds.
Thanks for telling me about Claire Murray's book - I'm really into embroidery and especially cross stitch, so now I'm off to see if I can find it over in the UK.
Have a great weekend :0)

I have that Claire Murray book, too! I was in the middle of dying my wool for the Springtime Fantasy one when I found out I was pregnant and that was the end of using all those chemical dyes for me. And then when the baby was born and got older, it was too dangerous to rug hook with her around. So I stashed it all away but rug hooking was something I just loved. I'll pick it up again when my kids have grown and don't need me do much anymore.

If you're serious about rug hooking, I *highly* recommend getting a frame, not a hoop, the kind with the needle strips on all four sides. They are *very* expensive, but you could probably get one used and it makes your rug hooking experience *so* much nicer. Ooooh, I'm so excited for you, starting off on this! Email me if you want to, I could go on and on for pages...! :0)

I like the ring. That's cute. If you engrave "yppah" on the ring, you could punch people in the forehead and it would leave a "happy" impression.
